5. Website analytics
Self-hosted GoatCounter
We use a self-hosted instance of GoatCounter to measure the use of this website. The software and analytics database are operated on our own server in Germany. Analytics data is not transferred to GoatCounter or any other analytics provider.
The following data is recorded: requested page, page title, referrer URL, time of access, an indication that an automated browser was detected, and a randomly generated session identifier. No cookies or similar identifiers are stored on your device. Screen size, full User-Agent, and URL query parameters are not recorded in the analytics database.
To distinguish page views within one visit, the IP address and User-Agent transmitted with the connection are used temporarily in volatile memory. The resulting assignment expires after a maximum of eight hours. The IP address and full User-Agent are not written to the analytics database. The random session identifier cannot subsequently be traced back to an IP address or User-Agent.
Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to obtain privacy-friendly, aggregated information about the use of our website, improve its content, and exclude automated requests from the statistics. You may object to this processing at any time by contacting us.

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics helps us understand how visitors use the website. Cookies or similar technologies may be used for this purpose.
